Family bathroom, Tonbridge

This cottage bathroom was extremely small, outdated, and no longer suitable for the family who had recently moved in. With a young child who needed a bath and parents who preferred a shower, the existing layout simply couldn’t accommodate both without feeling cramped or impractical. The client wanted a solution that respected the character of the old building while giving them a modern, functional space.

We proposed a new layout that made better use of the available footprint, then adapted the design as we uncovered the quirks that came with working in an older property. Careful planning and attention to proportion allowed us to incorporate a full bath with a shower without the room feeling forced or overcrowded.

The finished bathroom is bright, balanced, and family-friendly, giving the client a space that now fits their daily routine while bringing a fresh, comfortable feel to their cottage.
